I only get to the real internet once in a while, so this will be the next to last of 4 posts today. Gotta use it while I've got it!
The chicks are around 2 1/2 weeks old now, and they're not so cute anymore. Very prickly now.
This was a week ago...
All fluffy and cute, right? Well, breast and back feathers are starting to come in... here are the chicks today.
Henry thinks they look awfully interesting, and he swears he just wants to sniff them... and perhaps a lick or two... riiiiight.

Steve had to clean up at his sister's place after the Henderson Massacre. Steve's sister Susie had 20-30 chickens until one afternoon, Henderson went nuts and killed every.last.one. She freaked out and had her brother, my Steve dig a big hole and bury all of the before her husband, Steve, came home and flipped out over the dog killing all the chickens. Henderson had to go live somewhere else, and then Susie got a bunch of new chickens.
But honest- all he wanted to do was sniff them....
By the way, whaddya get? Buff Orpingtons? Did you guys order your chicks from the hatchery or did you buy them somewhere (and where?) Is this too many questions?
Definitely not too many questions! :) We ordered them from Union Mills feed store. And yes, they are Buff Orpingtons.
Henry will probably learn the hard way that the chickens and possibly geese are not to be touched. That hard way will be a hotwire around the outside of their pen! :)
Promise you'll take me to Union Mills Feed Store! I checked it out online and it sounds right up my alley! Is it far from your house?
That shouldn't be a problem. We passed it when we went to the house to drop off my trees. Not too far away. :)
